Four essential qualities
There are four qualities that you need to really rock n’ roll with life – to feel great, to be at your best, to be in the flow, to be swimming in awesomesauce.
These same four qualities are also super important when you want to make real and lasting changes in your life. In fact, it’s pretty much impossible to make changes without them.
So what are these four gotta-have-’em qualities?
Alignment
You know what you want in your heart. And you bring it fully into focus.
Connection
Every last bit of your awesomeness plugs in and flows in the direction of what you want, supporting you in a seriously big way.
Resonance
You plug in so deeply that you are literally humming with what you want. This makes something magical happen.
Expression
The aforementioned magic spills over into every nook and cranny of your life. Your life changes. A big celebration ensues.
When all four of these qualities hang out in the same spot at the same time their collective presence creates a dynamic that makes it possible for you to make great big changes in a really short period of time.
Alignment + Connection + Resonance + Expression = Major stuff-shifting mojo
Got it? Cool.
Now it’s time to make cake.
Cake? Huh?
How do these four mighty supporters of change leverage their collective superpowers to shift stuff?
Allow me to illustrate. Using a metaphor. A metaphor involving cake.
Why cake, you ask?
Because I like cake. Everyone likes cake. I’m pretty sure it’s illegal not to like cake. (No? Well, it should be. Only people who growl at puppies and make mean faces at babies don’t like cake.)
Plus cake is yummy. Turning stuck and struggle into all kinds of awesome is yummy too.
So clearly cake is the best metaphor to use.
Angel food. Red velvet. Pineapple upside down.
You don’t set out to bake a cake all willy-nilly. When you make up your mind to bake a cake, you know exactly what kind of cake you want.
Angel food. Red velvet. Pineapple upside down. Or, perhaps, my favorite – Too Much Chocolate cake, whose names makes me giggle because, uh, there is no such thing as too much chocolate. (Duh.)
Cake making involves a clear vision. You know precisely what’s going to pop out of the oven when you’re done. Because if you didn’t, you may end up with carrot cake. And that would suck.
When you show up for a sacred sound session, you have something specific in mind. You know what you want from the start. What stuff you want to shift. What changes you want to make. What results you want to see.
Sacred sound brings you to a place of deep alignment with the particular flavor of awesomeness that you want. It also clears away anything that might cause that alignment to go wonky – stuff that keeps you running in circles, stuck in one place or turning left when it would be way better to turn right.
With all that stuff out of the way, you’re left with a crystal clear vision of what you want.
That crystal clear state? That’s alignment. What you want is firmly and fully in focus. You know exactly where you want to be after your session. And, all clichés aside, that’s the first step to getting there.
Mmm, butter.
When you make a cake you need stuff. Specific stuff. You need the ingredients necessary to create the cake you want.
Eggs. Flour. Sugar. Butter. (Mmm, butter.)
And if you are to successfully create heaven cake-tastic yumminess, you need all of the ingredients. Together. At the same time. In the same place.
You don’t want to get all psyched about making cake only to realize you don’t have sugar. You can’t make cake without sugar. (No, sugar-free cake isn’t cake. Hello?)
So missing one ingredient can kill your cake-making dream.
I don’t want your dream to die. I want you to have cake. To make sure that happens, it’s important to make sure you have everything you need on hand.
Eggs. Flour. Sugar. Butter. (Mmm, butter.)
All present and accounted for. All ready to make cake.
And in order to shift stuff, and get what you want, it’s really important that all of you is hip to what’s happening.
Mind. Body. Heart. Soul.
All lined up. All plugged in. All down with the plan.
Because if all of you isn’t behind what you’re doing, it’s really hard to do it. Your soul wants Too Much Chocolate cake (the most obvious choice). But your mind wants vanilla almond. And your heart wants blackberry cream.
Lots of pushing. Lots of pulling. Lots of back and forth. Which ultimately means, no cake. (I’ve firmly established that no cake is a bad end result, right?)
When you want to shift stuff, it’s really helpful to have all of your various and sundry inner bits on the same page. Sacred sound connects with every part of you – all of these inner bits. It makes sure that every facet of who you are is down with the plan and moving in the same direction.
That’s connection. When 100% of you is 100% behind what you want. And that’s awesome – like Too-Much-Chocolate-cake awesome.
Magic in a mixing bowl
With all of the ingredients in hand, you’re ready to commence with the making of cake. Like an alchemist in their lab, you combine seemingly ordinary elements together to make something that is anything but ordinary. Some people (like moi) might even say you’re making something truly divine!
But before the heavens open and the angels sing, something needs to happen.
Alchemists talk about the quinta essentia, or the fifth element. It includes all of the other elements, but it’s something so much more – something so awesome that it’s an absolute must-have when you’re trying to turn lead into gold. It’s what makes the magic happen.
It’s no coincidence that this magical quinta essentia is also a must-have when you’re trying to make cake. Because cake and gold are pretty much equal on the scale of awesome.
Before you can have cake, you have to mix the ingredients together. Eggs, flour, sugar and butter (mmm, butter) have to get so down with the idea of becoming cake that, in the course of being mixed together, they become something more – some magical synergy that’s all aglow with the possibility of cake.
This magical synergy is called cake batter. And cake batter holds the potential for cake.
It’s born from all of the individual ingredients coming together around a common goal and digging the goal so completely that they all become something more – a batch of ooh-ey goo-ey goodness that will eventually lead to even greater and more delicious goodness.
This all-coming-together-to-make-something-so-much-more? That’s resonance.
Resonance is a fancy pants word that’s used a lot in sound healing. It basically means that, through sacred sound, you reach a point where you’re so all about something that you’re vibrating head to toe with an oh-yeah-bring-it-on kind of energy.
And the something that you’re all about is your focus for the session.
Sacred sound wraps itself around what you want and feeds it. It nourishes it and gives it presence. It energizes your focus so fully that your focus starts to shake with excitement, knowing it’s just about ready to take the stage and rock out.
And that excitement is contagious, because it makes you start to shake too. Inside, at the energy level. Not outside. (But it’s totally ok if you want to do some shaky-butt to celebrate the awesomeness of this. Because it is seriously awesome.)
So the ooh-ey goo-ey goodness of what you want gets all energized by sacred sound, which, in turn, energizes you, readying you for the much anticipated and much celebrated shifting of stuff.
It’s like resonance gives you superpowers that enable you to shift stuff in ways you never imagined possible, to turn stuck and struggle into previously unrealized levels of awesome.
This energized-from-head-to-toe, ready-to-rock-the-Casbah state is what resonance is all about. And that’s exactly what happens during a sacred sound session.
It’s pretty awesome, and pretty magical. Just like the quinta essentia. And cake batter.
You. Have. Cake. (Woot!)
So you’re rockin’ and rollin’ from top to bottom with what you want, filled to the brim with awesomesauce that’s been totally amped up by sacred sound. You’re so close to the cake of your dreams that you can seriously smell it.
What happens next?
The awesomesauce that’s been cooking at the energy level, causing you to break into a spontaneous happy dance, spills over into your life. Stuff shifts. And your life fills with the ooh-ey goo-ey goodness that you wanted.
You. Have. Cake!
That’s expression – when what you want shows up. When stuff shifts. When stuck vanishes. When struggle stops. When you’re holding a piping hot pan of awesome!
Sacred sound supports the process of shifting stuff from start to finish. And when your stuff shifts? That’s totally reason to celebrate. And eat cake.
Why this works
Why is sacred sound so effective at shifting stuff?
Because it brings the four qualities essential for yummy cake yummy change together in a really powerful way. When these qualities are present, change is guaranteed. It’s like a really funky, sort of mysterious, all-kinds-of-cool form of spiritual science.
Sacred sound creates a space within you where these four qualities can all hang out together. And when they hang out together, stuff shifts.
Another reason that sacred sound is a rockstar when it comes to shifting stuff is because it works at the energy level. And before your woo-woo alarm goes off, energy level is a just a fancy way of saying the place where change happens fast.
There is energy behind pretty much everything. Everything that happens within you and around you, including stuck, starts as energy. Sacred sound works with this energy. So it works at the roots of what’s going on.
And when you work at the roots, some pretty wow-worthy stuff happens.
By working with the energy behind something, it becomes a million times easier to shift that something. Even great big stuff can shift fast when you change the energy behind it.
But when you try to shift stuff without dealing with the energy? It’s hard. Like pulling-a-ten-ton-truck-using-a-chain-and-your-teeth hard.
Sacred sound changes the energy behind stuff to make shifting that stuff easier. A whole lot easier. And a whole lot quicker, and more complete and longer lasting too.
Also sacred sound is so effective at what it does because your basic nature is to be well and whole and happy and filled with all sorts of awesome. I get that the ick and ugh of life can make it easy to lose sight of that, to make it seem like stuck is the new normal.
But it’s really not. That’s just the way stuck makes things look.
Your basic orientation at a soul level is to rock out with as much goodness as possible. Sacred sound speaks to that, and clears away the stuff that’s made your inherent tendency to gravitate toward goodness hard to see, hard to feel and hard to recognize in your life.
But that innate tendency is way deeper and way bigger than any stuck, struggle or suck that happens. Way deeper and way bigger always win out. Sometimes you just need a little help to get moving in that direction again.
That’s what sacred sound does. It gives you some momentum that helps you make your way back to awesome. Like Too-Much-Chocolate-cake kind of awesome.
One of the things I most value about Fabeku is his deep compassion for the suffering of others. I really feel respected and listened to. It feels like Fabeku is there to help me out of concern for my own well-being, not because it’s his job.
